yes, the car does appear to be a V8 TransAm...like you said, it doesn't have the RamAir hood, so it isn't a WS6. As mentioned by others above, i believe they are asking to much for it, considering the mileage and some of the flaws...

Mileage is 125k...low mileage for a 12 year old car.

My '98 has only 16K miles. 125K is NOT low for a car of ANY age. They should've just said "Mileage is 125K" and left it at that. Adding ".....low mileage for a 12 year old car" trashes any credibility they have. By their logic, 440,000 miles on my '68 Cutlass would be considered "low mileage for a 42 year old car".
To the OP, pass on this one. Many good Trans Ams still out there with less than 100k miles and none of the horrible pictures you displayed.

Regarding the mileage, what a lot of folks up north fail to realize is that in texas, wherever you go, it's a he'll of a drive. In my opinion, that's fairly low mileage for a 12 year old vehicle.
My '00 silverado is pushing 150k at 10 years old...just from commutes. Normally my daily drive to work is 37 miles one way. Currently, it's 135 one way.
I know the full maintenance history is probably non existant, but if done correctly, it may have lots of life in it. Down here, 8k is a steal for that mileage.

$8800 is too much for the condition and mileage.
It needs an entire new top, which to have done could run close to $1000. (not sure, just guessing)
Kelly Blue Book "retail" value is about $8300. Take that and subtract the cost of any repairs or reconditioning it needs.
