Default 95 TA Hatch Question

I just picked up a 95 MQMB TA M6 Hardtop. The only thing about it that seems odd is that is has the non raised spoiled. I was of the belief that the spoiler was separated out from the TA package only in 94; was it possible for a TA in 95 to come with the non-raised spoiler?

The uplift spoiler was optional on '94-'97 T/A coupes, although by '97, all but 49 T/A coupes got the uplift spoiler.

does the raised spoiler provide better downforce? I am debating on pulling off the non raised and putting a raised spoiler hatch on.

At a superspeedway like Daytona or Talledega where you need to turn hard at 130+MPH, I'm sure it does. Won't ever notice the difference on the street or at the strip.

only when your going super fast. speeds of 120+ then youl notice other than that no difference. Ive had both non raised and raised and they feel the same no difference.

Optional huh? I hadn't heard that before. The story I got when I bought my 96 was that they ran out in 94 and the same thing probably happened to my 96.... I like the optional idea better.

I'd say go for the upgrade. When I bought my car I couldn't figure out why "it just didn't look right". Finally someone asked what happened to my spoiler.

Yeah, I felt like a dumbass.

Just to clarify, in 94, only Trans Am GT's got the uplift spoiler, along with other options in the GT package. The uplift spoiler did not become a separate option until 95.

Maybe, maybe not..........but it does collect water, hence why you might hear the non-raised spoiler refered to as a "birdbath".

Well hell, I didn't know there was a GT option. I've never seen that or read about it anywhere. Guess I should have asked more questions a long time ago.

GT option was a 94 only option package. Was not sure what it was until I bought mine. At first, I thought it was some type of B.S. dealer package.
