Default chip in key

OK I just replaced the complete wire harness on my 01 trans am and I got to a point where I can start it. Now it won't crank over and the security light comes on. Can anyone tell me where the chip information is stored? also it was a at car factory and the previous owner swapped it to a m6 I went with the factory a4 harness.

Hey Mike, welcome to LS1tech!

It sounds like you might have a wire or plug off, the chip communicates with the PCM.

And the PCM will need to be re-tuned to work with the automatic.

Go to your favorite search site (I use bing) and search for: "vats ls1tech" and you'll get some relevant results here.

OK thanks. I am still running the m6 transmission so I shouldn't need a tune for that I was saying I used the automatic wire harness

I used the body control module off the new harness I bought so I'm sure that's my problem.
