Default What is a fair asking price for a WS-6 hood?

Like the title says....what is a fair asking price? I have an original WS-6 ram air hood on my 98 T/A that I'm going to swap out for a flat hood I picked up a few months ago.

It is black and has been on the car a while, has it's share of rock chips and the clear coat is faded in one spot. While the paint isn't perfect the hood itself is damage-free and fits perfect because it's the real deal.

^That's a link to some photo's of the car I took while on the HOT ROD power tour.

I bought mine for $550 I think, but it was damaged. I know I saw a lot of them going for around $700, but that was a few years back, I'd check the classifieds to see what people are asking on there. I don't think the paint being bad will take away from the price since most people would have it repainted anyway. Good luck with the sale!

a Genuine OEM WS6 for 98+ cars with no physical damage to the hood starts around 700 and if the paint is good and the right color for the car of the buyer would likely top out about 1k, but like anything it's worth what someone will pay for it.

I'm actually in the market for one myself. PM me please, if it's still for sale and you'd like to discuss.

Why would you swap out the hood for a flat one?

I have a few reasons; the main one being that I am actually kinda strapped for cash right now lol.

And the other is that my car is not a WS-6 and I kinda like the plain jane T/A "sleek beak" look. Honestly, it seems that almost every Firebird and T/A has a ram air hood on it, to the point where you actually have to look at the door tag to find out if it is a ws-6. I think the flat hood on the V8s is actually a more unique look.

I picked up a flat hood a few months ago for practically nothing and have been waiting to put it on, and I think I will finally have a chance to do so this week.

Yeah....I mean the hood was on it when I bought it, and like I said in the original post, it has rock chips and typical paint wear that is consistent with the front bumper of the car, so I think it has been on the car for most of it's life...I think it's time to change it up a bit

Okay guys, so I swapped it out and listed it in the classifieds.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/parts-cla...ws-6-hood.html

And if your local to my area, Staten Island, NY here is the craigslist ad http://newyork.craigslist.org/stn/pts/4604329421.html

I'll post of some pics of my new sleek beak look when I get the car cleaned up!

Looking at the pictures I'd say $600 is a great price! Heck if you lived closer I'd buy it! I wouldn't drop much below that price if any. Just my opinion though. Good luck with the sale I'm guessing it'll go real fast!

Man this is tempting. I was looking for a black Ram Air hood, but GOD DO I HATE METRO NY.

Last time I picked up car parts in the Bronx it was back in the days of Mapquest and Magellan GPS only and on a Friday at 3pm it took me through NJ, into the Lincoln tunnel and straight through Manhattan. 13 hour later I was outside the city back on 87 north

Hahaha, I promise you Staten Island is a far different animal than the Bronx...I'm only about 10 minutes from NJ.

sold in 2 days, the ultimate sign of pricing it to low. Speaking of selling stuff I need to go bump my for sale thread and repost some stuff on craigslist, trying to start raising some cash so I can get some land and start working toward my goal of living mortgage/rent free just need about 60k to do it.

When I sell things I like to actually sell them. Sure, I could have held out for a few months and maybe gotten a little bit more, but I've got better things to do then bump sales threads and deal with hagglers from craigslist for two or three months...just my two cents anyway.

I think I paid about 800 for my OEM Firehawk hood. Wrong color, but it was a Firehawk hood.... Hahaha I would say 500-600 would be fair??

Quick Reply: What is a fair asking price for a WS-6 hood?
