Default '00 TA headlight making MAJOR noise, help!!

My wife's TA JUST started to make this messed up noise on the driver side headlight when you turn them off. When they go down, it seems the motor just keeps spinning or something, then finally stops, takes about 5 or so seconds for it to stop. I took the little ribber boot off the top so you can manually do stuff to it, and it doesn't do squat, I can't open it manually, it just spins and spins and spins. When you leave the rubber top off and turn the lights off, you can see the top plastic part just keep spinning when the light is down all the way, then finally stops like I described above. I can push down on the top of the plastic turn part and it clicks when I push on it, then when you turn the lights on and off, and when it stops spinning, I can push it down again.

Any ideas? Any help would be awesome!

It's deffinatly cheaper then replacing the whole motor. I tried the 180 mod first, but the gear was so bad the light would get stuck half way up. So I ordred two because I figuerd the other one would go right after. Now I don't have to worry about when it will go anymore.
