Need a new FOB.

Need a new FOB.
I think my FOB is dying. The buttons are barely working, and I feel it's only a matter of time before I hit the "Lock" button and then be unable to unlock it without using the key and thus setting off the alarm. Where can I get a new FOB for cheap? I saw some reasonably priced ones on Ebay, like this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-...QQcmdZViewItem
but that one only has 3 buttons. How do I turn off the car alarm horn without the red button?
According to that Ebay auction, the dealer would charge me $70 just for a new FOB plus another $30 to program it. WTF? There's gotta be a cheaper way!

Here's one I found on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-Ca...QQcmdZViewItem
and here are the instructions for reprogramming it yourself.

It shouldn't set off the alarm by using the key >_>
Are you sure it's not the battery dying? Sounds a bit like it is.
I thankfully found one, finally, for $20. Mines the old school kind though

My car alarm goes off with the key as well.
But for your FOB I agree with the battery dying, im not sure where I seen it but there is instructions floating around somewhere on how to change it. The back just pops right off.

OK right, yea I was thinking it would go off right away, which is overly silly if it did. Having a delay makes much more sense. I just got, what looks to be a brand new one, off eBay from some gal for $25 after shipping. Then again mines a 93 heh

Take it apart and remove the little diaphragm under the button. Of it there isn't one, try putting a small square of electrical tape over the contact point. If THAT doesn't work... well, you can always destroy the contact point with a screwdriver or something

The battery changing is a breeze. Some have a small screw holding the halves together, but most just snap together via the plastic housings having latches. Stick a screw driver or butter knife in it and twist ever so slightly. If one spot doesn't give, try another.
While this isn't a Pontiac Fob, it's generally the same idea. (Google rocks)
