Sentences and sentence structure, paragraphs, comma's, periods... these are the things you must know.

As far as the car goes, 6250 is too high.
A 96 LT1 Auto in great shape with 97K is worth 6K at best.

I'd try her for $4500 cash.

Sounds like it's in reasonable condition for a 12 year old car. With a few fixes it could be really nice.

The only thing that matters, as far as price is concerned, is what's it worth to you? Anything else is irrelevant.

Ask when the O2 sensors were last changed. This will give you a clue into the type of maintenance she's done. If she knows what they are and has changed them, you can be reasonably sure that the maintenance was done right. If she gives you that deer in the headlights look, you may want to give the engine some real close scrutiny.

You should NOT pay more than $5,000 for that car. Even that is high. Sounds like shortcuts were taken in the repair department and who knows what else is lurking in the future. Be prepared to spend some $$ if you get this car, that's why even $5,000 is probably too much.

Personally, I'd offer no more than $4k. If not, then walk away. Plenty of LT1's out there with about that mileage for $4k.
