WS6 Steering Feel

WS6 Steering Feel
I have a 1999 WS6 Trans Am. Does anyone know of away to adjust the steering firmness? I actually would like to make my steering a little easier to turn (moire like my 1981 Trans Am). Can this be done?

To my knowledge you cannot "adjust" the steering "firmness"(I guess you mean steering weight or resistance?).
Is this more of a handling issue, or just a power steering thing?
What do you have done to each car, and what size wheels/tires are on both cars?

Buy a 05 Vette.. LOL My bro has one and I hate it.. The steering is like one and a half turns to take a corner,my TA is like 3/4 turn which I like much better..Otherwise the Vette rocks!

check/replace power steering fluid. Otherwise I don't know what to tell you. These are performance cars and supposed to have weighty steering, it gives more feel in cornering...

youre talking apples and oranges. the 81 has a vastly overboosted power steering. your 99 has power assist rack & pinion. the 99 is light years ahead of steering feel then the 81. trust me, i have a 78 TA. we have the same steering boxes in both our cars. my 78 is also non-WS6, so its the plain, slow-ratio steering.
even though its easier to turn, that equates less road feel, less steering input and feedback. you wont be able to feel what the road is doing, or what the car is doing. it wont 'talk' to you, as it were. trust me, youre much, much better off with the 99 steering. if you want a sloppy slushbox, you shouldnt be driving an f-body.

there was a performance steering ratio option for the 4th gens, i'll have to look for the code. probably what was put in the SS and WS6 cars but im not sure.
just found it:
FE2 is the code for the Z28 cars (and probably SS's, etc.). F41 is the other, and it's for the V6's, the F41 is supposedly stiffer than the FE2.
