Default camaro to G8 diff swap

I have been told that when doing the camaro to g8 diff swap, you have to replace the axle also. Due to the mounts and splines.

That is 100% false.

No axel swap needed.

So conversely, will a G8 center section bolt up right into a 2010 Camaro SS?

I'm looking for a whole center section so I can do 3.91's (maybe).

It would bolt up, but you would be going to a smaller housing and ring gear... Why not just get a 1LE diff? Probably cheaper by the time you buy the gears, rebuild kit, etc..

So the G8 setup might be less sturdy?

A full 1LE diff is interesting but new they might be $1500?

I checked miles per hour with my GPS and it was perfect.

He had to enter the tire size, and new gear numbers. Computer automatically made 103 changes to my setup.

As usual it comes down to the knowledge of the tuner.

Good Luck!!!

Sometimes you see them on Flea Bay.....LOL

I missed the opportunity to 2 or 3 times in the last couple of months.

Seems like there have been more 3:91 gears and for me with an auto that maybe too much gear....

I still like my 3:27's but hoping for better ET's in the 1/4 mile.

Keep hitting the bone years, if you can find a v6 rear end that was a 6 speed manual it's the same rear end as the ss. 3.42 post with the better axles.

I have experience with both the GXP and the g5/ z/28 diff, yes they use the same axles, also confirmed by DSS.

And yes same with the G8/Holdens, V6s have same diffs as V8s, only difference is the V8 HSVs are shot peened and a little stronger.

The Camaro diff is a beefier unit for sure, much more webbing on the pumpkin.
