Default g8 gt or ?

Hey guys, I'm new here but I've been browsing on here for a couple years. I'm in the market for a new car and not quite sure what to get. Trying to spend around $20k though and I've been looking at g8 gts and I really like them, but it seems like everyones selling them and is starting to hate them. Can you guys tell me what you like and dislike about the car? and could you advise me to get something nice around that price range? I've narrowed it down to a few:
04-05 cts-v (nice but a little outdated)
05-06 gto (still a little outdated compared to the g8 IMO)
03-04 terminator (I have an 02 v6 and i love that model mustang more then any besides the new 5.0, and thats a little out of my price range)
08-09 gt california special ( they're nice, but no big difference from that and a regular gt)
06-07 sti (i love the awd but very expensive to mod)

Again, any help is appreciated. I plan on buying in the next couple months and just really looking to findout more about each car.

Thanks

those car choices are all over the place. Every car you listed has it good and bad points. You need to take some time and go test drive every one you listed. you ave no clue what you want yet. try narrowing it down to 2-3 then come back lol

I am in the market for a new car as well. If the G8 was a manual I would be all over it. I cant even find a GXP for sale with a 6 speed right now, and even if I did I am trying to only spend around 20k.

For me the problem is more towards m3 vs CTSV. The CTSV from what I read is a pretty solid car if you can re-enforce the rear end. I am still trying to research what diff upgrades are available and how much rubber they can fit under them. Being as heavy as they are, if I find out I can fit some good size wheels and tires I am pretty much sold on the CTSV.

Unless of course the 6 speed swap on the G8 is not too difficult.

I've had my G8 GT for a month now and I am really enjoying driving 60 miles round trip as my daily commuter. Easy to work on LS motor responds well to mods. I can get upwards of 25-27MPG when I keep my foot out of it. If you buy right I think you can drive it,mod it enjoy it, resell it and break even or make money. Can you do that with any of the other vehicles?

The CTSV manual is known to brake motor mounts and transmission mounts.

My vote buy a GT and put a Tremec in it.

I bought my G8 new in 09. I love it! For the $ you can not beat it. The 20k is low because they have held there value pretty well.Good luck! You will not regret buying the G8.With a few bolt ons you can run mid to high 12's,and be able to have the car seats in the back
