The biggest cop-out of the year was GM only issuing this car—their champion in the sports sedan arena—with an automatic. I know at this point it’s just a matter of preference. GM’s transmissions aren’t awful in general, and the one attached to their V8s have traditionally been very good (Chevy SS included.) This is a sports-sedan though. It deserves a clutch as much as it deserves the 415 horsepower coming from under the hood."

Yes, my nephew has already driven the 6 speed manual SS at the Milford Proving Grounds...said it was awesome! Will have to ask about the magnetic ride control....
