GXP to have DOD?
I am just wondering if anyone knows if the LS3 in the GXP model next year will have displacement on demand or if anyone thinks its possible. Is there a variant of the 6.2L engine with DOD currently out, or will the GXP just get the Corvette version? I know the G8 is rated at 30hp less, but I doubt there are any real differences, the 30hp could be the incredibly quiet exhaust and probably crappier air intake system.

They're taking the LS3 from the new Corvette, and "De-tuning" it, (Although we saw how well that did with the "300" rwhp G8 (Which was actually around 318 stock)) So, if the Vette LS3 doesn't have it, I highly doubt they're going to incorporate it for the GXP. Besides, do you NEED 4 cylinders shut down? No.

Hell no you dont. I was looking into DOD because it seems harder to mod without having to completely disable it. This seems easier to just not have it in the first place.

No DOD on the GXP's LS3.... but yes, it will have the 6 speed auto.

DoD was GM's way of helping alot of cars that were still using 4speeds get better Gas mileage.
6-speed= better Gas mileage than what the DOD would give. and going to 4 cylinders with a tank wouldnt be good lol
