Which Are You Buying? This question may have already been asked, but what are your thoughts out there buy the G8 GT now or wait for the GXP...Give me some pro's and con's. My wife and I are going to get one or the other. One thought is buy the G8 now, spend the money saved on mods and make our own GXP for less. Or wait for the GXP and hope a few mods will be enough to hold off modded GT's. Which offers the greatest potential for the (opinions please)$$?

GT for me My wife and I were talking about adding a second Pontiac to our driveway even before we found out about the G8 with the Torrent. Then we saw the G8 and fell in love with it like no car before (except for my TA of course). As for the GT vs the GXP: we are going with the GT. We already have the TA for speed (mods are going on when I get back from the desert) and we need more of a family car. We're already going to sacrifice the cargo for speed with the Torrent vs the G8 so my wife at least wants to have an auto trans and a smooth ride. So we don't really have a need for all the upgraded suspension, and the price difference is silly for 40 horsepower if you're not into the suspension. When you can make up the power difference (and keep in mind, car mags out there are saying the the GT is underrated at 361 anyway) with an exhaust system (1500 max) and some other suspension bolt ons if you really want them, it doesn't make sense to buy just the badge of GXP. Then again, if you have to have the manual transmission, you have to go GXP if they haven't started offering it on the GT yet. As for me: GT, modded, and a little bit of a sleeper factor.

I'm trying pretty hard to con my wife into a G8, and luckily for me the GXP is going to be hitting the dealerships about the time we were planning to buy.. hopefully she'll see how badass they are and we'll take one home.. lol
