Default Magnaflow X and Spintechs

Just had my Magnaflow Xpipe and Spintech Super Pro's welded in a few days ago. Have to say I love the setup, exact sound I was looking for. There is some drone but not enough to bother me at all. Heres some pics of the setup that might help someone else out. Ill get a vid or two when I get a chance but there a plenty of similar videos out there. Sorry about all the dirt, been working alot and she hasnt been washed in a while, and sorry about the glare in a few pics.

Install courtesy of Jason at Bell's Exhaust in Martinsville, IN, does great work if your around the area.

Day of arrival.

Stock for comparison's sake.

Nice! I was planning on going this exact same route before i came across a killer deal on the borla catback. Can't wait to hear it man. Spintech is the best sound on the gto's imo.

Spintechs do sound good but with my set-up-L/T headers, catted x and a MS3 cam, the spintechs were too loud.

I did a MagnaFlow X/Spintech Pro Streets exhaust years ago on my '04. I redid the pipes from 2 1/4" TO 2 1/2" and kept the mufflers in the stock '04 location as well as the exit too. With SLP LTs, !cats and a cam it got too loud. I've tried adding different "mid" muffs ahead of the SpinTechs. DynaMax, Moroso and Power Sticks all had their turn. I finally settled on 3" x 30" CobraPack Mufflers bolted right to the LTs. They mellow the sound as well as mute it nicely. I shake my head at all the people that repeat the mantra that a X makes an "exotic" sound. Ya, here's my freakin' Ferrari.

That sounds awesome. I do get tired of people saying that X pipes produce an exotic car sound. My 06 mustang had an X pipe with SSS axlebacks and it certainly didn't sound like an exotic. My GTOs exhaust for sure doesn't sound like an exotic.

It's the way a lot of "information" gets passed on the internet. 1 person says it and everyone else repeats it like it's Gospel

I know on the 05+ mustangs that an O/R X and chambered axlebacks/mufflers produce a raspy tone, especially in the upper RPMs.

Part of it sounds good. I don't like hip hop . If you don't like that popping you can get it tuned out. Now get a cam in that puppy.
