Granatelli Looking to Sponsor Someone in Atlanta
Chevy High Performance is going to be doing a shoot out at Road Atlanta and Granatelli has been invited to bring a car - rather then drive from Los Angeles we would rather team up with a local stud in the area. Granatelli will be offering a complete suspension system as well as tech support and discounts on whatever other parts you need - more info to follow - but if anyone knows of anyone - please spread the word

Ok here is the latest information - I just received
Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia on the weekend of June 1-3, 2012.
Chevy High Performance Magazine - Street Machine Challenge
“You Build It, We Test It!”
Chevy High Performance has announce the Second Annual Chevy High Performance Magazine Street Machine Challenge.
The format is the sameas last year. This year’s challenge will take place at the Chevy High Performance Nationals at Atlanta Dragway. With the Nationals being in such a prime location, this will be an excellent opportunity for all competitors and manufacturers to showcase their cars and products to a large group of performance minded enthusiasts.
To participate, Chevy High Perf will hjave their own drivers that will get behind the wheel of each invitee’s vehicles and place them through the following challenges:
- Three runs down the dragstrip
- Autocross
- 60 to 0 braking
*During testing, manufacturers will be allowed to make similar number of runs in each category; the quickest overall time will be included in the event coverage.
This is an invitational only event and Granatelli has been invited. We are looking for a local boy who is ready to race under the Granatelli Banner. We need you to get in contact with us ASAP so we can submit your entry on both yours and Granatelli's behalf.
To be considered, simply email us at jrgranatelli@granatellimotorsports.com with complete details on your 2010-2012 Gen 5 Camaro street machine, including high-resolution images of the exterior, interior, and engine bay.
The only restriction we have:
- Tires are limited to a 180 treadwear rating
- Pass safety inspection
- Finished vehicles only with paint and full interior
Clearly we are looking for a serious machine here. If you think you have what it takes please get with us Post Haste

Too bad this wasn't in Deutschaland. I would like to compete in that event. But one stipulation, no changing of the setup. It is already maxed out triple threat 4th gen.

Too bad you are looking for a 5th Gen, My son has a fully prepared 4th gen that's just coming out of the paint shop, Mine is an autoX beast also, but it's a Firebird, so I guess it won't qualify. We both run SCCA ESP class locally in Virgina and would be willing to drive to ATL.

- Three runs down the dragstrip
- Autocross
- 60 to 0 braking
Questions:
1.) So others will be driving the car, not the owner?
2.) The first post mentions Road Atlanta, which is a road course. Last post lists the events - and the road course is not listed. So is Road ATL not actually involved?
I would be open to the idea if:
1.) I drove the car, not someone else. I just don't trust my 10-bolt in a dragstrip condition with someone else behind the wheel. Plus I have several years of autocross experience, so I would rather race my car than watch it being raced by someone else.
2.) Instead of suspension components, would you be willing to offer other components? (I already have all the aftermarket parts you offer, minus the G-Load Brace/driveshaft loop).
I see Henry De Los Santos is quoted below. He was the editor at CarCraft for a long time - I've been a subscriber to that since 1998. I also subscribe to his current publication - Chevy High Performance.

The owner is given the opportunity to drive their own car and better what the experts have done. If they did not have 1 driver evaluating each car – the losoers would argue it was the driver that made the difference - not the car
Road Atlanta was cancelled –

As to your last question – We want a car that 101% represent what Granatelli has to offer – not our competitions parts
