do you have a tire guy you can talk to locally?
when i used to have a mustang i went and took it racing a few times, it also needed some new tires, so i went up to the tire shop, told the guy what i was planning on doing and he set me up with some nice toyos.
when the professional that was training me the first day took the car on the track he commented on the tires and how good they were.
thats my recommendation

I think you are much better off talking w guys w more experience in similar cars. Might want to read up on fraxx:
http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/
Also be more specific on what size you plan 2 run, and details like, r u driving on these 2 the track, DD ing them also? These are big factors in tire selection.

I just looked 30 sec ago there $149. 275/40/17 unless you have different size.
SO what are you looking for the tire to do for you. Also what type of track you going too. AX or RR. ALso are you a Beginner to track time?

Depends what you will be doing on a road course. Racing or lapping?
Lapping? Any decent Extreme, Max Performance or Ultra High Performance summer radial will do fine (some much better than others).
Racing? You'll be using R compound.

Instructors recommend learning a road course on some normal high performance tires and not R compounds. I would suggest getting something like that that is still a street tire with a decent treadwear. You are going to trash them no matter what you get.
