Default FTP 98MM Lid + 85MM MAF or my current set up? Going to install 92mm FAST Intake + TB

Hey guys, I have a 98 Z28 6 speed, currently it has 3" magnaflow exhaust, SLP long tubes, high flo cats, K&N air intake, and a TSP Torquer V4.

I ordered a 92mm FAST intake, and a 92mm Nick Williams throttle body, as well as 4.10s

I also plan to paint and install an OEM SS hood I picked up last month and get it on my car.

I'm wondering if I should go to a FTP 98MM lid and an 85mm MAF over my factory MAF and the K&N intake I have on my car right now? (seeing as I'm going to the FAST 92MM set up) or is it not worth it? everything on my car is stock except for the stuff mentioned above.

Also, if I should go with the FTP 98mm lid + 85mm MAF, which MAF should I go with? a GM 85mm? or one of the SLP 85mm MAFs? Thanks guys!!

The 98mm lid and 85mm maf is ideal over your current setup. Save your money and go with the GM/Delphi 85mm maf, its far less expensive than the SLP maf and the SLP won't add squat over the GM/Delphi unit. The car will need to be tuned with the 85mm maf, so install the new lid and maf when installing the FAST intake if you want to tune it once.

You could also opt for a 4"x6" coupler and get rid of the MAF through a Speed Density tune. That is what I am currently running on my setup.

You will get some slight rubbing with that combo with the SS hood. Screw the SLP as mentioned.

is the k & N the fipk? thats not a bad intake, basically an open filter. however the lid and base could have its potential also with ram air. since you're going to need a tune stick with stock gm 85mm maf.

While you're at it I would pick up a bottom breathing ram air kit.
