Default Help Guys

Hey guys I believe i have a collapsed lifter in the SS. Its making a really random clanking noise and it seems to be RPM dependent. Me and my buddy pulled the valve cover off, and there doesnt seem to be anything broken that we could see, and we torqued down everything to double check and everything was fine. So i was wondering if anyone in here has some lifters that they wanna get rid of cheap? LMK guys
Thanks

While I'm not saying it isn't one of your lifters, check your rockers. I had a clanking/clicking sound coming from my passenger side last year. I thought it was a lifter until I did an oil change and found tons of needle bearings in it. One of my rockers broke which was causing the noise.

Pull the valve covers off push down on all the rockers and see if one is loose.

yeah, and if no rockers are obviously loose, see if you can push any of the rockers down with light pressure. we had some bad lifters in a brand new motor and you could push the pushrod/rocker down with one finger and no effort.

By pushing down on the rockers you can still decompress a lifter if it already started to bleed down. You can get a kit from Summit or have a shop do it for you.
