Man, I feel like a whiner but I got the (rusted) shaft again. Paid this guy $250 for this tr 224 cam. I polished on it for a couple of hours with scotch brite but it is pitted. I don't know if he intentionally sold it in this condition or if he sprayed it down with ether then let it sit for a while?
I tried to handle this via PM but he hasn't answered. This **** is getting old real quick. I think he should return my $$ plus pay for return shipping.

OK, here we go. What can I do? Can the mods help me? I have no reason to lie about this. I want a tr 224 cam for an engine I'm building for my father in law but this thing he sent me will not work. I took the pictures as I was removing the packaging. I have since removed all of the rust but it is pitted pretty bad & I'm afraid it will eat the cam bearing. Not to mention wear out the roller lifters.
It was packaged perfectly when it arrived but it was BONE DRY. I had those white gloves on & they stayed perfectly clean.
Here is his response 24 hrs after he read my PM:

The cam was coated in motor oil and was packaged in plastic and put in a box that was taped all around to prevent moisture from entering.
I cannot comment on how the cam was handled after shipment The type of rust you are describing is significant and would almost be impossible to occur unless the oil was removed from the cam. I have stored old cams with no protection for years with absolutely no rust.
I suggest finding another method to remove the rust to possibly salvage the cam. I am not going to give a refund for a cam that was damaged after shipment.
My response:
You are an absolute liar. The cam was bone dry. The packaging was completely intact. The pictures are taken right as it was removed from the packaging.
The damn cam is rusted to hell! I removed ALL of the rust but there are huge holes in the steel. All of the rust is on one side like you laid it in something.

^^^^Thank you, somebody with some sense. I am not a scammer or liar like the verbal assaults this guy has thrown at me. I have pics to prove it was a good cam he never asked for them. Thanks for ruining my trader rating dueche bag.
If it was coated in oil, UPS could have unwrapped it & thrown it out in the rain & it wouldn't rust like this. I don't think there is any way possible anyone could have made this cam rust like that in a few days like this *** wipe is saying.
I can't figure out how it would benefit me to sabotage this cam. I would have worked with him but he decided to lie to me. I still need a cam but this one is not usable.
I will to continue to call this guy a liar because he says it was covered in motor oil. IT IS ******* DRY, NO OIL, NO MOISTURE IN THE WRAPPING. Maybe I could believe he accidently covered it in something that he thought was oil but there is nothing in the box, in the bubble wrapping, or on the cam.
Here is his latest PM:
As far as I am concerned you are the liar. I know how the cam was packaged I did it myself. I never have and never will try to screw anyone over.
If in fact it was damaged when you removed it from the package why didn't you respond to me faster? Why does it take you 30 min to write me an email calling me a liar but it takes 3 days to inform me that the part I sold you is damaged.
Like I said, you will get no reslolution on this matter from me.

Here is the link to the sale. I have contacted everyone in this thread that was requesting pics & none were given. Yeah, I know I should have known better but I was really needing the cam for an engine I'm building.

this is bullshit. Even if the cam was sent bone dry, it wouldnt have pitted like that in the few days it was being mailed.
this guy knew this cam was garbage, and sold it anyway.
ALLNA6, give him his money back, you friggin douche nozzle. YOu sold him bullshit and you know it. You trying to say it was in good shape and coated in grease, but somehow in a couple days of shipping the stainless steel dried out all the oil, and pitted like that?
LIAR!!! Refund his money *******.

you are right about one thing, he does have comon sense. But he wasnt agreeing with you. He was saying that this couldnt have happened over the course of shipping, you bullshit artist.
And as far as internet tough guy, far from it. I cant stand people like you who scam people out of their money. Maybe u sold the cam like that not knowing it was a problem, and u had no intention of screwing someone. It happens. But u could have made it right when u found out there was a problem.
Either way, you sold the guy junk and wont refund his money. You are a pathetic little man.
Dear Johny internet bad ***
You are the quintessential telephone/internet tough guy. Why don't you track me down and throw me a beat down like you suggested. I would love to see that. I am as done with thread as paypal is with done with the ridiculus claim that was ruled in my favor...
To all other reasonbable people:
I can't be held responsible for damage incurred after delivery was taken. If he had contacted me the day he recieved it, I would of made it right but since I took all precautions shipping it and there was a significant peroid of time after the cam was received before any attempt to contact me was made. I can't be sure he didn't mishandle it to cause this damage.

When did i say i was going to track you down, or give you a beat down? I said the persona scammed should do whatever it takes to get his money back. Also, i highly doubt you would like to see me throw you a beat down.
On your other point...
What damage happened after delivery was taken? you are trying to say that you shipped a beautiful cam, and in the course of delivery and the couple days he had it, it pitted and rusted like that? I find that highly unlikely, as do all the other people who have posted here.
More likely is this.... You had a cam laying around fora while, you needed the money or decided to try and get some dough for it. You took that lame picture which shows nothing...if anything it shows that the cam was all brown while it was on your work bench!!! That cam in your little pic is far from shiny. You sold it to him in shitty condition, and now you play innocent when u are called on it.
You are a thieving *** wipe.
LOOK AT THE PIC!!! The cam is already turning brown and black in this guys own pic! You would proably see the pitting too, if it wasnt such a small pic. This is the cam you sent him, and you can see it was in shitty condition already.
Refund his money, and he will send you back your awesome cam.
