9.02... Still not there
Well I guess I will finally go ahead and make my depressing post.
First off let me say that I made a HUGE mistake on the first pass of the day!
60ft... 1.423 (This officially backs up my 1.39 60ft btw)
1/8... 5.738 (New best)
mph... 125.90
1000ft... 7.439
1/4... 9.024
mph... 137.90
I can't believe I let out on this pass and have still not stopped thinking about how stupid that probably was! I blew my chance for the elusive 8.xx pass because I wanted to "feel" the car out. All it got me was a lot of regret.
Second pass I decided to give it another shot. Bounced the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift and started having voltage issues from then on.
60ft... 1.454
1/8... 5.825
mph... 120.85 (bumping the limiter twice reflects the loss in mph)
1000ft... 7.574
1/4... 9.047
mph... 153.66 (Yes this makes it the "FASTEST" 1/4 mile GTO)
The rest of the day was filled with a dead battery that wouldn't hardly charge and wouldn't hold a charge. The car couldn't get enough voltage to teh fuel pump and I was sputtering on the big end of every gear down the track. From about 6400-7000rpms the car just wasn't getting enough fuel and I was having to let out or shift early. and I couldn't do any better than 9.1. I ran 5 9.1s after my 2 9.0s and then I was done. Atleast she is consistent.
I am going to get back to work on the car a bit tonight.
Things to do before our Feb 28th DH9 event...
Pull the Converter for a restall and rebuild. Greg at FTI is the man and takes excellent care of his customers!
Fix the BS3 cable issue so I can datalog.
Fix the RacePak and get all the readings sorted out.
Change the Oil.
Clean up some wiring.
And the big one... Learn how to pack the damn parachutes!
Huge thanks to Kelly and Todd (jarhead/nmbr1gmfan) for everything they did helping me at the track.
It was great meeting new people. And while a lot of people were pumped about the car going 9.0s I was pretty upset all day and apologize if I seemed on edge at any time. I just really wanted that 8 second pass!
Sorry I couldn't deliver guys! Next time out will be the one!

Well I have sorted out a few of the issues. I am going to work on it a little bit more tonight then drop it off at the shop tomorrow. I don't have my lift up yet and don't have time to pull the tranny on the floor of my garage or storage unit, so a local shop is gonna work on it some more for me. I just wanna get all the stupid misc crap sorted out before I give it to them so we can see if it is holding the 17psi we have teh boost controller set to. I am guessing no and it is probably only making like 14psi. Need to crank it up to 17-19psi before the next event.
