Default Who is in the single digit club without a roll cage??????????????????????????????????

Just wondering who is in the single digit club without a cage? Doors still close? Car frame still straight? How does the car launch? Is the car stiff enough? ETC.....

.

I've seen it done twice, one guy was a dumbass and one guy was a cheap ***. The cheap guy had a '70 1/2 RS and didn't want to cut on it. Ran 9.88 @ 140 with a plate on a 468. With small tires and stock leafs, the 60' was high, so it didn't cause any damage. It was all big end. The dumbass was a stupid street racer, who has since learned his lession after seeing the other morons kill so many people. He now races full drag only cars at the track only. Crap hole track in Ind. had no tech, give us your $20 and we don't care.

This requires having ran into the single digits.

The other morons who killed people. Was this because their cars were not sturdy enough?

It's just a stupid idea.... anyone can run the number without the cage. The cage is there to protect you in case of an accident. first time you run 11.50 without a 5 point or 9.99 without a 10 point you will get kicked off the track.

Stupidest thing I have ever heard of.

Might as well leave the windows out and ride on a milk crate...

I totally agree with you guys. I was just wondering if anyone is doing it and how their cars leaves if they have a low 60'.

I did it but wouldn't do it again. My car consistently ran low 10's on n2o and I had to leave a few tracks for going too fast with no bar. Once I put a T-brake in the car, it started running much quicker (better 60' times) and ran 9.83@136mph. I have since put a rollbar in the car and I am about to upgrade to a 10 point cage. Later

I know this is the single digit club but there are several people here running well into the 10's with no cages. They are street cars and I guess they just dont wanna put a cramp in their daily driver status with a big *** cage.

It's much worse in the Arab world if you have a roll bar in your DD car it will not pass inspection.

The hear the Chicago street racing guys do it all the time. The slower the car looks the better seems to be the goal.
