Got the 9... wasn't easy but got it....
Went to Infineon yesterday in Sonoma CA to test the car a bit more prior to Pinks.... We made a nitrous pass a few weeks earlier but spun the tires bad so we bolted up DA shocks out back in an attempt to get her to hook....
The results last night were mixed. For a few hours 9's avoided us barely.... Made a first footbrake pass after a admittedly weak burnout and for some reason the car KILLED the MT radials off the line.. My tuner wanted to pull some timing retard and feed it back in over 3 seconds so we did that in between runs...
Went to the lanes again, did a good burnout this time, got on the t-brake and floored it and 2 step limited it to 4K. Let off the button and she DEAD HOOKED and headed for the moon!!!!! Got it to where the bumper narrowly missed the ground and accidentally shifted from first to 3rd cause of the shock of seeing nothing but sky.... Spent the whole rest of the run in 3rd gear.... timeslip read 1.40 60' on the back tires, and 10.07@139.... damnit..... if I had only used 2nd gear....
Third run spun the tires hard again out the hole 1.70 60'.... 10.19@139 nothing great to report...
4th and final run, swapped to a new fresh bottle, 900 psi of bottle pressure. Got on the brake and she launched and got STRAIGHT busy... blew thru the traps and knew it was a good run....
1.47 60' time and a 9.79@139.8mph.... thank god.... I'll have some videos up soon and i'll also shoot a pic of the timeslip. I also won a 12 pack of beer for being the fastest 4th gen at the track that night.... Car is a 383 LT1, single plane conversion, AFR 227's, solid roller cam, 1/2 filled block, FAST XFI, rear mount dist, crank trigger, accufab TB... TH400, 9" rearend car.....

hahahah. the track is not downhill the shutdown area is uphill giving the impression that the track is downhill....
It's Infineon in Sonoma and it's one of the best tracks in the country.... Top Fuel and FC run there..... absolutely sick track..... I always run my best times there...

Congrats man, it's come a long way.
The problems you're having is exactly why I haven't gone back to the radial to be honest. I had on and off results last year n/a running them, I'd love to slap a set on but I already know what I will have waiting for me when I get to the track.... inconsistant and unpredictable traction issues.
I really respect the guys that can make run after run at different tracks on different days with them and have consistant results, I had a hard time getting the car consistantly do the same thing at the same track on the same day.
IMO, for what it's worth I wouldn't run a radial unless you have to for the class you want to race. If you don't have to run them, don't. You'll enjoy racing alot more with a regular slick on the car, I certainly have.

I defintely hear you JL..... We couldn't get consistent results out of them at all... I have more respect now than ever about guys who hook on them all the time. I don't know how they do it....
but more often than not the ones running sick times with them are mostly turbo cars and they hit the tires way different than big nitrous cars..... how many world record holder radial cars are nitrous cars??? Uhhh none.... that i know of.....
My W's come today. and pinks starts friday but we're towing to the track tommorrow and getting our pit together..... and my friend Chris Alston Jr (Of Chassisworks fame) is bringing out his SICK F3R Big block 64 Nova..... like 3000 gigahorsepower.....
NA my radials worked pretty well... but we weren't running the kind of HP to really test them. went 1.50 on them but had a few 1.6's in there i think..... but i'd say 75% of the time they hooked, pulled the wheels and off I went... nitrous was an ENTIRELY different story....

One nitrous record holder, eastside's nitrous record (8.23) was done on 295 ET radials... I was there the day it was set.
I went 1.49 on the goodyear 275/60 radial last year off the footbrake, but that was one run and was never able to do better then a 1.5x after that. Off the transbrake they were useless. I can't even imagine how bad they would have been with the jug. Granted the goodyear ones are junk compared to the M/t ones, but the improvment would have had to be so drastic, I can't see where it would have been enough.
Personally, I run a 28x10.5 S et drag, I was thinking about trying the W tire, but honestly the S tires have been so far into the 7's that I see no need, plus alot of people hate on the W tires. If I ever minitub the car so I can run alot bigger tire, I may try going to a set of 31x10.5W's, but that's alot bigger tire so it's a whole different world.

Put down consistent 9.80's all weekend... .86, .89, .82 and then the armdrop pass where we didn't get a timeslip... but here's some of the pics from the weekend. We pretty much have wheelstands down now...

Congrats.
Time for some travel limiters looks like your car is getting higher and higher.
I am using a two step and travel limiters and from the few runs I have on 325's the car barely lifts the fronts, maybe 6-8 inches.
