I am building a fox body mustang, dedicating it to a friend of mine who recently passed away at the age of 21 due to some complications from a car wreck that wasn't his fault. He was a big time mustang fan. I want to build a fox body mustang ( haven't decided on a year yet, need help with that also) and put a small block chevy with either a th350 or a th400 tranny in it. I need some major help. I was wondering if there are any aftermarket swap kits or if i'm gonna have to fabricate them. All input is highly appreciated. This build means a lot to me and many people and I just need some advice before I start. Thank you all.

i used a motorplate in mine.i think aje makes a k member with sbc mounts on it.good luck on your build.sorry to hear about your friend.

Thanks for the help. I've never used a motor plate before. How difficult is it to do. I found some pretty reasonable, but they give me the option of center or offset crank? Which one should I use?

you could get the universal motor mounts from summit.

they bolt up to the sbc motor, and the other side welds to the frame. they are very nice pieces.

I'd go with the AJE Tubular K member for a fox body Mustang with SBC motor mounts. You can't go wrong. It proporly mounts a Gen I SBC to the K member, plus is a light weight, tubular design. Best of both worlds. They run about 349.99

I used a stock mustang k member and stock chevy mounts... Nothing to it..

Dont even mess with the motor plates just buy the k-member. Already done this with a 406 in a fox and finding correct headers is a pain with the stock k-member.

im doing tthat same build a im gonna use the aje kmember with the chevy mounts wich aje also sells it reduces alot of weight an also makes it less of a hassle an gives you alot more room than using the stock one but i also recommend getting the aje crossmember with it for the tranny an if i remember right you can use the stock shocks an lower control arms with it but i would get coil overs with new lower control arms anyways
