Thumbs up question about a carb...

so im getting another carb for my dad, and i have no clue about them! i just want a replacement for him, maybe more later... its a 400 c.i. small block and all help will be appreciated...THANKS

You have to give all the specs. HP, rpm, style, race, street, ect.

sorry for the lack of info, its a stock q-jet, and its just a street car, so im lookin for a factory replacement, thanks for the help

Go back with either the stock stye Q-jet or get him an Edelbrock. They have less problems with tuning than your average Hollet.

take your cubic inches and multiply that by your maximum rpm then divide it by 3456.
400ci x max rpm
3456

that should get you a ballpark range

Usually, you can't go wrong with a 750 cfm carb for a SBC.

400 can use 750 and elderbrock is the best out the box carb for street applications or take your q-jet and adjust the air valve change the hanger and metering rods and she'll run like a champ google q-jet adjustment theres a site with all the info you need dont forget theres stock eliminator cars runnin 10's on q-jets
