Email discussion about exotic project
Hi,
I'm trying to complete an exotic project and set a record for which to the best of my research has not been accomplished. I purchased a car equipped with a 6.75 Rolls Royce V8. It comes with the GM transmission and several mechanics informed me that this sleeved engine was based on GM V8s. The record I am trying to set is 1,000,000 miles in this car. It's been done by Volvos, Saabs, Chevy trucks but not with this particular engine. Do any of the gaskets or parts interchange with the big block Chevy? Additionally, does the fact that this engine is sleeved mean that it can be rebuilt an indefinite number of times without the actual block going bad, as opposed to a non-sleeved engine which must be bored out to clean the bores? Thanks.
