Not on anything short of a 8,000rpm race engine lol. Must have had a fatigue point such as a gas pocket in the metal. Pull it off and take a look at the failure points. Bet you will find the point at which it failed. Thats crazy.

I also had a feeling it was a residual stress crack from the manufacturer its the only thing that makes sense.
when I looked at the crack you can see where it started, so I think it just finally hit the fatigue or endurance limit and gave way to the tension of the belt
there is nothing around that it could have hit, the bearing was perfect, I had barely had that thing on there for 2 months
that is the first time I have seen a smooth metal pulley do that
