rebuilt 350, won't start. timing? help please!
my cam recently failed on my carbed 350, so i rebuilt it, now it wont start. i set the distributor up right and wired it, and it has spark, but wont run? did i not do something obvious, or what possibilities could it be? i'll try anything. thanks.

it's not 180 out. yes i put a new timing set and it was correct, it seems like every time the distributor sets all the way down on the intake, its in between 2 points(terminals) not pointed on one.

then turn the distributor (i dont understand....its adjustable) what 1997 bird was sayn is if you lined up the dots on the timing set then installed the distributor without moving the crank. when the dots are lined up on a sbc you are on #1 tdc exhaust NOT COMPRESSION.

i figured it out, my valves were to tight in #1 cylinder, causing very low compression, so i could not tell when #1 was up for sure. i fixed the problem. set the distributor and now were good. thanks for your help.
