collector car high mileage value?
I was looking at one of 2 different cars that I might pick up. One is a 93 yellow TA with about 150k miles, the other is a 02 35th LE camaro SS with about 140k mile. Both are in good shape with only minor high mile related problems, rock chips, small scratches, worn drivers seats. One is $4k the other is $6k respectively.
I would assume the rare and collectible aspect of these 2 cars are gone and are now nothing more than cool daily drivers? Or is there some value left in either car?

I would hope the 2002 SS is worth more than $6000. That was a nearly $30,000 car brand new.

Even if there were only 10 built, do you really want one with that kind of mileage? I sure love rare or unusual cars but not when they are ready for a total restoration. With so many unusual F-bodies available in all types of anniversary and special edition packaging, why bother? I imagine in 50 years it might be the darling of the collector world but we aren't even close to that kind of talk.

The yellow TA's are rare and worth more- but right now no one wants an LT car cause LS cars are so cheap.
In ten years it will still be collectable and rare. True- lower mileage makes it worth more but it is always going to be rare and you will just have to find the person looking for that car.
Case in point- when I am looking at a 60's or 70's car to build I don't really even care what the mileage is- but I do care what options it had new.
It will never be worth the same as a low mileage original but will be worth more than a red or white TA in similar condition.
