That's not bad at all. You going with the Wolfe mini-tub kit?

I might just do the full tub. As he said he saved a good amount more weight doing that.

collasped a lifter. Most of them that came out are pretty weak. You can push the plunger in with ease. They are LS7 lifters with about 5k miles on them and happened at about 7k rpm with no pryor signs of an issue. Also the spings are patriot extremes with about 1k miles on them.

Valve hit the piston and the piston is now no where to be found. Put a hole in the sleeve.

Motor is done for. Pics soon.

Those pictures are pretty brutal. You have the magical disappearing piston. That's an expensive explosion. I had similar results when my stock engine blew up and trashed the whole thing in my Formula.

What are the plans from here?

i can't see any pics. i've been thinking about this swap myself....i take it that it's a straight forward swap, nothing needs to be altered/added in the engine bay?

I found what did my motor in. The vvt oil pump.

Found a spun bearing in the bad cylinder. Looks like I probably sucked the pan dry.

The extra slop in the rod cause it to come up more in the cylinder and hit the valve.

Total damage:
1 broken valve
3 bent valves
1 missing piston
1 piston broken off the rod
2 bent rods
2 cylinder sleeves with chunks missing
cracked block
camshaft scored on a few lobes
both heads need lots of work
windage tray bent
Crank scored up
