Default steering wheel controls??

is there any way I can wire up and make the steering wheel controls work without buying that special adapter?? or, do I not have a choice and MUST buy the adapter?

You are going to need an adapter. The common one is the pac swi-x. Google pac for their site.

yah thats what Im gonna get. Im hooking it up to a JVC deck. I was jw if there was a way around it...but I found one on ebay for 15$ and you cant beat that so thats what Im gonna do.

actually, it should be PAC SWI-JACK (JVC, Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood). That is what I am using for my Alpine deck.

15$, thats a steal if u can get it for that price.... I'm trying to sell my last 2 soundgate adapters for 60$/ each since they were 140$ new.
