HU Interface?

HU Interface? Looking at getting a touchscreen double din HU, but im not a big fan of the interface for it.
AVH-P4000DVD is the perticular headunit, cheap but it does all the things i would need it to do. But the interface, display, whatever you wanna call it is super ugly! Anyway to change this?

i think on mp3car.com i read somewhere they use linux? not sure though. anyways i dont think you could. they dont want people stealing their software. its probably coded and would be extremely difficult to write your own stuff. the main reason why big brands are more expensive is interface.
