Default How can I trick the "Low Oil" light from comeing on???

So my low oil sensor was leaking oil thru it,, so I bought a new one,,, I couldn't install it with the stock cat in the way (it was rusted on and a PITA and impossible to remove without replacing) so i broke the float off the sensor to get it in.
So now the Low Oil light is lit up on the dash? And I want to bypass it, I regularly check the oil level.
Is this a closed loop or open loop to turn the light on,,,,, or is it a certain amount of ohm's like an air bag??

The oil level switch is a normally-open grounding switch. It does not directly control the light on the dash - it is a sensor monitored by the PCM and corrected for engine temperature to determine when a low oil situation happens.

Grounding the sensor input wire (brown) or shorting the two sensor wires together (connecting a jumper wire between the brown and black with white wires) should make the system think it's always full and keep the warning light turned off. Simply unplugging the sensor will have the opposite effect - the system will see a low oil condition all the time.

This is not a poll... there's a right way and a wrong way (or rather, a way that will work and a way that won't). If you want to disable the light you can ground the brown wire (or jumper it to the black with white wire which does the same thing) or you can remove the bulb in the cluster. Unplugging will not do it - I can post the schematic for you if you think it will help.
