Default Warning buzzer intermittently working, please check this out.

My friend has a 2005 Chevy 2500 HD with the 6.6 turbo diesel. Apparently his buzzer intermittently goes out, and when that happens, his front speakers often do not work.

My question is, does the sound for the buzzer come through the speakers in this vehicle and are the problems possibly related?

I am going to assume this system is similar or identical to the 5.3/6.0L gas 2500's. Anyone?

I suspect that you're not getting many answers because this is an LSx (mostly f-body) forum and most of us don't spend time working on pickup electronics. You might want to try a forum like fullsizechevy.com.

I can tell you that most GM factory double DIN head units control many more functions than those handled by our older style radios. One of those is the audible chimes. My wife's Envoy sends all audible chimes from the radio to the front speakers. I found out I had to buy an external adapter to retain the chimes when I installed an aftermarket head unit. I don't know for sure but I wouldn't be surprised that the full size pickups have a similar setup.

I figured that I wouldn't get a whole lot of replies. Thanks for the info. Do you figure that there could be a problem with the radio to lose the front speakers and chime? Either the chime is missing and the front speakers will work, or both will go out.
