Default Biggest battery that can fit in a 1999 Camaro Z28

I would go out and measure myself however the car is in the shop. Anyways I have a chance to get a XS Power D3400 for real cheap and I need to know if this battery will fit just as is or even fit if some slight modifications need to be done. The measurements are:
Weight Lbs. - 46.00
Weight Kgs. – 20.85

Length – 10.24 in
Height – 7.20 in
Width – 6.65 in

MAX Amps – 3300
Ah – 67

Thanks Guys

Here is the BCI battery group size chart: http://www.rtpnet.org/teaa/bcigroup.html

F-bodies take group 75/25 batteries which are just over 9 inches long. I have heard of people stuffing group 34/78 batteries in without too much difficulty but I've never tried it myself.

You could always do a rear battery conversion and fit something crazy in. I just swapped my G8's battery with an even larger Deka 9A31 (which is an awesome battery - not sure why people would buy other brands over Deka, because Deka is great for car audio, reliable, and much more reasonably priced as well)

Dimensions:

Length 13"
Width 6 3/4"
Height 9 1/2"

Other than that, I don't remember my Camaro (which was also a 99 Z28) having enough room to fit that much bigger a battery than stock...

This is a 34/78 - I remember having to modify the battery tray to fit it as well as bend the hard line going to the A/C condenser, but it wasn't anything that couldn't be fixed with a Dremel and a little prying.

hmmm...well if you've heard of people stuffing group 34's in I should be fine then. Because the XS D3400 is a group 34. As far as a rear battery conversion, out of the question with a driver and passenger side stealth box. Also keeping trunk open for t-tops. Deka is nice yes, however there are some differences. As far as with XS there D3400 is 20lbs. lighter, alot smaller, and I like the look alot better lol. Price on a Deka is alot better compared to XS however, there is no way I can fit a group 31 in the oem spot lol.

You sir are my hero , that's exactly what I wanted to see. Now I love the tie down you have on top, where did you get that? Because I seriously don't see me being able to use the stock mount.

The tie down came from Year One...I'll send you a link in a PM since I don't think they are a sponsor and I don't want to step on any toes. It is actually used in conjunction with the stock mount...it was tight, but it worked.

the Year One tie down is a nice piece (i have one too). after paying $30 shipped to my door, i realized you can buy a piece of metal at the hardware store and do the same thing for $5

Ya that's what I was thinking lol. Now if it was polished or chrome, then I would have no issue paying that. Plus I'm not 100% sure if it will fit around the new battery so home depot and some time seems like the best bet.

I think it's a question of availability. I recently needed a new battery for my wife's car, and did a little research before buying one. The Deka looked like the way to go, but they don't appear to sell directly to the consumer, and the closest retailer I managed to find was something like 150 miles away. It could be the greatest battery in the world, but I'm not making a 300 mile round trip for one....
