Question 97 Camaro Cassette/AUX problem

Hello everyone, recently the cassette player in my 97 camaro ss stopped working. As in, no audio will come out when I plug in my cassette aux adapter. I ordered a second adapter thinking that was the problem but no luck. I also tried cleaning it with compressed air but still nothing. It really is a big issue not being able to play my own music in the car so what I'm asking is what are my alternatives? The car came equipped with the cd changer located at the back of the car if that is any help too. Thanks!

Are the radio and changer working normally (just the cassette doesn't work)?

You could try using one of those head cleaning cassettes but I doubt that will fix it since grimy heads usually cause distortion rather than no sound. Sounds like it's just a dead cassette drive. It is a 16 year old mechanical device after all. You should be able to find a replacement head unit fairly cheaply in our for sale section or on eBay.

You're probably right, how hard would it be to keep this unit but install an aux port somehow?
