Hello, I just had my alt go out last weekend on my way to work. I ended up ordering a 145 amp alt from an 09 5.3. It fits the bracket fine and even seems to be a better fit without that plastic crap on the back. But it has a smaller socket for the exciter wire plug than my ls1. Oh, and I should mention I'm trying to put this in my 02 Formula. Is there an adapter plug or can I splice in a plug from an 09 5.3 into my wire? How do I hook this up?

Moving to electronics.

You might be able to remove the exciter connector from the existing connector body (with a paper clip) and insert it in to the new body, if they are from the same connector family - I'm not sure.
