i think i fried my battery

i think i fried my battery i have an XBOX in my car and it needs a power inverter to run. before i used to leave it on alot (when not running), sometimes for short periods of time, sometimes i'd drain the batt completely cuz i forgot aboot it.
today, i was saving some CD's on my XBOX and i was coming out every 5 min to switch CD's and recharge the battery by turning the car on. well the last time i turned it on and the low voltage alarm on the power inverter went on, but it still started.
the volt gage on the dash kept going down, but when i revved it it went back up. i turned it of thinking it was okay, but it wouldn't start. i tried jumping it and it wouldn't work.
i think my battery is dead permanently now. i don't think it's the alternator b/c it was charging when i revved it. i don't think it's the starter either.
anyone had a similar prob, or know what's going on?
