Default new cd player whats wrong

so i got my new cd player last night its a pioneer. any way i removed my factory head unit and plugged in the new on and it sounfs like absolute crap when you try to turn up the volume. i noticed there were two plugs for the factory stereo, the main harness and a little plug over by the antenna. this little ones hass no place to plug in is this a problem and what is the plug for. could i have got and adapter for a monsoon system, because my car doesnt have one or does that even matter.

thanks

edit: it might have monsoon it just does not say it anywhere
