Default Replacing bulb in door handles

My driver's side was fine but the passenger side was out when I had the panels off today. I tried to pull on the bulb with my fingers but it wouldn't budge. Does it twist out or something? Don't want to bust it and have nothing to hold on too.
Anyone know the number for it or where to get? Hopefully I don't have to buy a GM socket to get the bulb.

I forgot the bulb number. (I stocked up on them a while ago and they don't have the number printed on them.) This site has a great look-up for bulbs: http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/ Your local auto parts store will have the replacements. Just take an old one with you.

You remove the bulb... very carefully. I have used needle nose pliers in the past with mixed success. With a light hand/squeeze it will pull out of the socket. Do it too hard and it will shatter. Regardless - if it does shatter, it becomes easier to pull out.

That's probably not "advice" but more the way I have done it. There's got to be a better way. Maybe if you take a piece of duct tape, fold it in half over the end to make a tab and use the sticky parts to pull on the glass?

I am not sure of the number either and I just replaced mine or the driver side a few weeks ago. I had to pull it out and take it into the store for matching. As for pulling it out be very carefull like he said.. I used a need nose and cracked it. That little sucker was almost $4.00 if you can belive it.

At work I use a piece of rubber tubing press over the end to pull minny bulbs. I am going to grab my tubing today and try it on this one. Just push it over the top (has to be a real tight fit) and pull.

Yeah I would reccomend eBay for these bulbs. I found these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-RED...m260238326944&

They're red and you can choose a bunch of colors. Two bulbs for $2.49
I haven't bought my WS6 yet (few days ) But where are these bulbs? Inside or outside?

A little late on this but I just found my 2-pack and they are indeed 74's. Mine are Sylvania in the green pack.

I used a piece of electrical tape, wrapped it around the bulb leaving a tab to pull it out, worked pretty good.

Another good idea!

These are inside the door panel insert piece that surrounds your lock slide. You have to remove it to get at them.

so... can you buy these bulbs in blue and it will shine blue out of the door? Or does it have some of that red plastic, so no matter what bulb you get it will light up red?

No... you'd get purple! ...Or maybe pinky-violet... Check it out: (Take out the green.) http://www.omsi.edu/visit/tech/colormix.cfm

But - if its a perfect blue light and a perfect red filter, you'd get black. (No light would get through at all because perfect red filters only let through red light.)

Shouldn't that OMSI site have the colors Blue Yellow and Red. Not green because you can make green with blue and yellow but you can't make Blue Yellow or Red
