So tonight me and a couple of my buddies were just cruising down the road and we all have ls1 camaros and i happen to be the lucky one to get beside a 98-99 cobra. After messing with him for about a mile he finally rolled down his window the guy says "You really want to race me kid" and im all like yeah man lets go then out of no where hes like "well let me go home and get my other car and you meet me back here in two hours" Im thinking this guy must be crazy to think im going to wait for him to go home and get his however much horse power drag car. I WANNA RACE THE COBRA! once he realizes that hes like man this is just a stock cobra im like this is just a stock z28 whats your point? some how i dont think he believed me and i didnt see him again. Not really a kill but i thought it was kinda funny that he knew his cobra would get killed.

Without the SC it wouldn't have been much of a match, but he should have raced anyways. He just made himself look like an ***. If you have a faster car bring it out and go mess around with that.

I could see him using such an excuse if he was cruising in an Accord, but the Cobra could hold it's own if he's installed the driver mod.

What's the name of that one fellow on here, Snakebit? That fellows little naturally aspirated Cobra is the business.

A 98 and a 99 are different gens, if he was willing to race it should have been a decent race.

I was going to bring this up also '98 rounded body and '99 square edged models, look totally different. I must be from the show me state, even though the F-body is faster driven correctly, with 305 h.p '98 model or 320 h.p. '99 i would have tried regardless. Win or lose you'll never know unless you get in the game.

Lol....ok....with gears and bolt ons they will go mid 12's. My buddies 99 Cobra went 12.50 at 110mph. Thats enough to run with or if not beat a bolt on LS-1. I agree though stock they are sluggish and stock for stock an LS-1 would walk one hard.

i forgot the 99s were different it was the rounded body so it must have been a 98

Yeah I don't get this either, why do people run away from a race if theres even a chance of losing? If the is no money on the line and its all in fun, who cares. I've been trying to get my buddy with a GT500 to race for months now, and he refuses every time say "oh but my car is stock" ITS GOT 500HP jesus.

Yes your right if they have the "fix". My buddies 99 Cobra went 13.90 @103 Bone stock.....with CAI, x-pipe,mufflers, 4:10's a tune it went 12.50 at 110mph on 18's......very impressive for the mods......gears in a 4V is a poor mans supercharger.
