2001 Camaro Z28 vs 1996 Mustang GT
first off my friend just bought a 1996 GT and won against a dodge stealth. so he thought his car was pretty quick...? well we all knew that i was going to win.... but dam did i kill him. kind of felt sorry for him cuz he was just SO in love with his mustang..
my mods are borla exhaust, SLP lid, & Nitto 555R DR.
his mods are exhaust and air filter, & street tires.
we first went from a 30 mph roll. did the 3 honks and INSTANTLY pulled on him and never saw him next to me a again. at 100 i looked in my mirror and he was bus lengths behind me.
so then i slowed down and we went from a 30 roll again but this time i gave him a car length and half and honked it off. instantly pulling right past him shifting to second gear and shut it down at 90.
hes soon going to get CAI, T/B, MAF, clutch, short shifter, chip and tune. and thinks he will get me.

Very nice kill. Not to bust your friends ego any more but, Dodge stealths aren't **** to begin with. I had a Mits 3000, (pretty much the exact same car), and they are nothing compared to the Camaro's and Trans Am's at all. That's why I upgraded to the WS6.
It'd be a different story if it had been twin turboed pushing 500 hp or more.

There's a big difference between a base Stealth and the R/T Twin-turbo. I'm talking 161-222 horse, naturally aspirated V6 to the 300-320 horse big boy. The turbocharged versions are stout.
Good kill

I'm having some deja vu here... didn't I read this story a week or two ago?
Edit: Nevermind, found the old thread. Turned out about how I expected it to . But do ask if he started in 1st or 2nd gear... might have held off the assraping for another half second or so if he was starting in 2nd, and started in 1st next time.

i have a buddy with a 98gt and the day he got it he made the comment him and i should race. His dad says that should be a good race. His dad of course has a 96 Cobra that my car has no chance against. I have learned to let it go.... Those 2v feel fast but have no chance against anything Ls1 powered. Takes too much $$ and mods to keep up better off just getting a 4v if you plan on keeping it and modding it.

Bone stock 96 Cobra. Nice car. Low miles. I like the car its just funny to get the 4V speech all the time I mean he really thinks i had no chance... I wonder if he will run me now since i got Lt's and LS6 intake?? That should have evened it up since he is faster right?? I might have to bring that up to him

Actually I can tell you've been paying attn. Yep...stock 'generally speaking' an LS will put a few lengths on a stock 96-98 cobra.
