Trailblazer SS vs. TA
Wow. This was weird. I think I ran into the same guy that I raced last week on my R6.
I was driving down the freeway and this TBSS is lurking beside me only 3 lanes over and I think he's playing with me. I wait until traffic clears and switch lanes so we are only 2 apart. I hear him rev finally and I rev back. Then a Firetruck happens to enter with it's lights on...
So we all slow way down (down to 50) But now the TBSS and I have clear lanes ahead as the firetruck pulls off. He is in gear I can hear from 2 lanes over so I wait for him to go. He hits it first and then I proceed. So I start about a car back, but up to 100ish I pull a couple cars on him! I was amazed. At the top of every gear I'd pull a little bit each time and every time he'd shift he'd lose a 1/2 more.
Then afterward he changed lanes over to me and we gave each other the thumbs up. But, he kept pacing me after I got back into cruising. He wasn't done! I waited again. This time he pulled a couple cars on me before I went. We ended up going from 67 (my cruise speeed) all the way up to 120 and I pulled his lead back and then another 2 cars! By this time I was pretty stoked that I pulled him that hard and we gave each other thumbs up again and went on our way.
Cliffs:
TBSS vs. TA
50-100 TA pulled 3 cars
67-120 TA pulled 4 cars.
I was NOT expecting this outcome AT ALL.
EDIT: My PB= 13.1@102.6

67 huh....
Not a surprise, they're pigs on the roll. I'm sure he was bone stock though. Unmodded LT1(because I have no clue WTF your sig means) it should have been a decent race. Going to be bad on a modded one though. I run dead nuts w/ unmodded LS2 GTO's on the roll. And I'm AWD, significantly slower on the roll mod for mod vs a 2wd TBSS.

So an LT1 pushing 3900 lbs takes an LS2 pushing 6001lbs by two... not sure I would be classifying that as a kill. LOL! More like an expectation. My 2008 TBSS is about 410hp at the crank with a signifcant loss through the AT/drivetrain and is bascially a flying brick (mods: CAI, tune, for now). I would expect that a TA would give a good solid run unless the driver was a bonehead.
Expected outcome would not be the same with my brand spanking new 2009 G8 GXP (unmodded until broke in)!

I guess I was just surprised that the TBSS is so pathetic.

Ok, Ill step in here again, to stop the BS slinging.
First, the TBSS doesn't weigh 6000lbs, no where near it. Neither does the TA weigh 3900. More like 5000(most likely an AWD) and 3500(TA)
Second, the TBSS doesn't have over a 120whp advantage, no where close. The AWD's dyno 290 on average. I'm sure your LT1 would dyno close to 230 if not over, stock. The Imp's dyno'd about 220 on average. On average they are very close in track times stock for stock. Many AWD's don't break into the 13s unless its superb weather. Quite a few go mid 14s regularly. I believe the LT1 cars went mid 14s quite regularly also.
Like I said before, pretty expected outcome, at least by my standards.
The TBSS may not be so pathetic next time you run into one, so be careful...
Edit: And what are you talking about your stalled auto raced a manual? You mean your stalled auto raced the ancient 4speed auto?

Then you have a very impressive truck, unless its 2wd. If thats AWD, your truck is fast for that weather and a head wind... Bad head winds cost me a tenth in the 8th, i've found out here in ND. I didn't have to deal w/ them to much in Jersey...
And are you the dude that used to be on the forum w/ the Red dodge? I didn't think that guy was from Tx and def didn't have an 08 unless you got a new one. He had a SB cam'd ram tho. I think it was cammed. Ran 13s...

You did beat him but to call the TBSS pathetic? The 120 hp advantage is only in flywheel hp vs the LT1. But the truck is at least 1000 lbs heavier for a 2wd and add another 500 lbs for an awd one. For what the truck can do(haul 5 people comfortably, have plenty of cargo room, tow 6000 lbs. and awd will drive you through any snow storm) I would hardly call them pathetic. It may not be as fast as say an srt8 Jeep stock for stock but watch out if you ever run into a modded one. In the end you won the race which is what counts anyway.

Some other SUV's that night were running 2-3 tenths slower than usual and trapping about 2mph less. Better weather and im sure it could go 13.9s..its 2wd btw. And negative on being the guy with the red dodge. Mine was white. Never took it to the track but based on some races i had it might have gone mid 13's or so.
