h/c m6 ss vs tr224 auto no stall. who wins? POST RUN RESULTS
Heres the story:me and a good friend of mine ran about 3 clean runs. the m6,while more modded won all 3 runs.understandable. i know his car very well and all his mods. at the time of run his mods were as follows 2000 ss m6,MTI V1 cam spec'd by Vengance. 42 lb injectors,255 fuel pump,stock 799 heads.92mm fast intake,92mm PTM Tb.410 gears.Moser 12 bolt. ASP UD pulley,ported MAF,custom tune. Mickey Thompson 315s. Pacesetter Longtubes. 3" true duals into Slp loudmouth 2s. Spec 3 clutch. FTRA,Slp lid,umi lcas no relocation brackets,umi adjustable torque arm.qa1 adjustable front shocks.Comp Eng rears. all runs were off a 30ish roll and i keep up within a car to about 90 then he starts picking up another car on me leavin me about 2 cars maybe a fender more. All 3 runs pretty much the same.
my mods at the time were TR224 on 114 lsa, no stall, custome tune,373 gears,ftra,slp lid, slp ud pulley, 2.5" true duals into magnaflow mufflers, umi lca s with relocation brackets,umi adj torq arm, stock 241 heads.fast 78mm with ported stock tb.mt 315s.pacesetter longtubes,custom tune. both cars are full weight. wish i got these runs on tape. my adrenaline was pumpin. i thought i did pretty well considering these were roll races. advantage-m6.

now for the rematch. and this is where i need y'all to chime in. he has since upgraded his heads to stage 1 patriot ls6 castings. and actually went down to 2.5" instead of 3" duals. he said it was too loud. and I have since added his 799 heads.still stock. ported my fast and even ported the opening to 85mm.also added a prof products 85mm tb. went down to 342 gears bcuz i broke the pinion on my 373s. wil eventually swap back later. got some new toyo 315s. the mickeys i had at the time were a little worn. retuned the ecu and will have my secret weapon. a yank pt 4000 stall getting installed this week. my question is do i have enough now to walk away from that m6 now or doi need to keep modding. the new runs will take place within a week or 2. and i plan on getting them on vid. whatcha think. a win for the A4s?

on an unrelated note, i ran a full bolt on mustang. 00 model. longtubes,410s,intake, full magnaflow exhaust, tb.programmed ecu. Procharger with 11psi. about 3 runs on that one. all my mods were same as mentioned minus the stall. i have that on vid and will post. who do u think won that one?

Take out your back seat and passenger seat and spare tire ect. You can always put em back in its not that hard. Also I would put the MT back on and lower the PSI quite a bit. +1 on the dig btw the tires wont really matter if you going from a roll.

Well it went down Saturday and the only thing is my friend didnt bring his camera so it wasnt caught on film but im sure there will b other runs. I just got my PT4000 converter put in earlier in the week and saturday got my car tuned for the stall and my heads and ported intake i added.The car was a freakin beast pulls like a **** at any speed. the stall was a noticeable difference in daily driving before the tune and now is much more driveable. but YANK converters dont play. ALL OUT pull. night and day difference. So i told him(2000 black ss) i got my car tuned and was feelin good and he says there s only one way 2 find out how good its running. i get the hint and accept the challenge. he shows up to run fully strapped. gutted interior, 109 race gas, Billet specialties drag setup, front runners. Im like oh yeah,its on and here i am on my heavy *** torque thrust m's. usually he runs torq thrust iis. i know him good enough to know when he throws these rims on, he s out for murder. 1st run dead stop-- we both spin off the line so i let off to catch grip for a second. and start pulling half a car through 1st and 2nd. he misses 3rd. end of race. i was up by half a car -3/4 car. 2nd run-- off a 20 roll i spin he doesnt, i let off to help catch grip he gets a 1/2 to 3/4 car lead and retains it for rest of run but i was slowly closing in on him. so end result-him by 1/2 car. on that one he started 1/2 a car ahead of me. 3rd run-- 30 roll i spin again same story have to let off he gets a lead by half a car and keeps it. last run 25 roll, i spin he pulls me by half a car on this one seems like he was pulling me easier on this one. he was getting away. after he let off, white smoke out his tailpipes. he is equipped with spray and people following us were saying they think he sprayed on that one. but idk.. overall im satisfied that against his car with a drag setup, bigger cam,better heads, 410 gears,m6,cant say it any better than "dude i almost had u". Im kinda dissapointed that i was spinning also. think that was costing me a car or 2 easy. his car is a solid mid to high 11 sec car. but he s the type thAT if i was winning, 3 or 4 runs would have turned into 8 or 9 runs. also im gettin a very light ticking sound when i rev, possibly and hopefully mayb rocker arms or a f'd up pushrod. maybe lifters as im still running my stocks with 136k miles. should have changed when i did my heads but may have to now.

Nice runs and great read OP! Just one little gripe: you raced from a dig and low roll, with a high stalled auto, and didnt have drag radials or slicks on?? You're wasting your very large but singular advantage!

nice runs either his car is not up to par or he cant drive that well a m6 with equal mods as a stalled a4 will trap 3-4 mph higher plus he has a bigger cam and better heads he should pull you a few cars easy put some sticky tires on at 18lbs and launch the hell out of it and say goodbyee

well the tires im running are the Toyo drag radials 315s. only like a month old.had 19psi in em. funny thing is that when we did the drive tune and wot pulls,i wasnt spinning and that was with 30psi. and his car is up to par i believe. he rarely loses. he beats ls1 s and cobras, evo s with high booost or spray ,some cars are supercharged. Dont get me wrong his car pulls.he is pretty much considered one of the big dogs here in town. wish i had film but like i said i promise there will be other runs
