Couldn't reel in a Mini Cooper S
I probably had an unfair advantage but I couldn't reel in a Mini Cooper S. I was MMOB on the hwy doing 75-80 when I was a mini behind be driving rather fast. I downshifted into 3rd and waited until he got about even with me then I punched it but I couldn't gain on him. He must have been going over 100 when he caught up with me. I slowed back down around 110-115. Would this be normal?

I would love to but I will need to wait and see if I make Chief or if I am going to retire in Jan. If I retire and find a decent paying job, then I will start looking for go fast parts.

It is tuned. I think it was an unfair advantage as he was going 20+ faster than me by the time he was even with me and I punched it. It wasn't one of those roll, honk 3 times and then go.

i can totally see that happening depending on when you let out. Same situation happened with me in my bolt on iron ls2 gto. My car trapped 113mph. Saturn redline is pacing me from behind. Im cruising around 75mph and he punches it from maybe 5-6 cars back. i get on it as he catches my rear bumper and he pulls maybe 2-3 cars on me. I had to stay in it till about 140mph to get a clear come back on him. That car probably trapped 95-98mph. Mine did 113mph. Its not easy stopping a pull like that when someone has a rolling 20-30mph head start

I wasn't going to push it past 115 as there was traffic ahead. He stayed on it and weaved in and out of traffic. I guess you could say it was a ricer flyby.

totally understandable then. I wouldnt worry about it. Next time just dont chase him. If he wants to see how fast his car is, he can slow the **** down and line up with you.

Sometimes 20+mph is alot to recoup.
You would've punched it about 4-5 cars before he passed, then I can see you questioning it.
And its not really a ricer flyby if he was cooking in traffic for a minute. If he was already speeding when he saw you, passed you, etc... then he was just trying to get somewhere. LOL

It's pretty obvious that the navy dropped its standards since the 90's eh? So much for the 2 yr college degree minimum education level to make chief.....

As a ex Navy petty officer (AMS2) I gotta say something: HOW THE HELL DID AN ILLITERATE LIKE YOU EVER MAKE CHIEF?!?!?!??!! Seriously, you must be using a voice to print feature that was made in China by a communist ***** with a humor streak.
