01 bolt on z28 vs 2012 5.0 & Boss
well i recently ran a 5.0 and a boss for what its worth i thought id post my experience. my car has a stock tune except suspension mods, air lid, mass air flow and catback,t56 magnum, sintered iron clutch and i have a hardtop so i guess it had a little to do with it. ok so the first run the boss tried to do a ******* ricer flyby on me so i dropped it to catch up to him meet him at the red light i had to make him race me i had it in 2nd exhaust just growling and im just stomping the gas making him look bad so he finally trys to take off from about 30 or 40 i hit it before i even get to third im already almost a car ahead of him. the 5.0 as usual tried to pick on me as well we hit it at a 40 roll i was in 2nd i hit it leaving ing him shifting in 3-4 by 2 cars. i havent had the chance to take my car to the track yet and as far as i know my car is stock ive only had it for a few months i just bought it this year so if theres anything done i dont know i still have contact with the only two owners who were friends but like many say the fact that mines deos have an ls6 block deosnt make a diff in performance but it is a major diff from my 98 ws6 that i sold possibly because of the ls6 intake. but i believe with the right driver and bolt ons they can make these new 5.0s look pretty bad being 10+ yr old cars

OP: grow the hell up lose the attitude. Your car would get stomped by a Boss, and a 5.0 would slow walk away from you in a real race. But I bet you never allowed it to be a real race eh? Another ls1 owning ricer from the sounds of it.

Lol yea I'm sorry I wrote the post in a rush. My car has all of the said mods. The other two were stock (5.0 and the Boss) and no they were far from even having a chance at walking me even though the had the jump at about half a car.

Agreed completely. I had to stop reading it and start over again twice just so I could try and guess at what he was trying to say.

....wow...yeah were you racing a fox body? I have a slightly modified(cam/intake+supporting mods) 99 TA m6 and a 2013 5.0m6(completely stock). My TA pulls it but not by much down low. I think the 5.0 might be win in a roll race.

I have umi lcas,torque arm, reloc brackets,adjustable panhard,eibach pro kit, slp lid, slp mass air, catback, ac was unhooked at the time, stock tune,t56 magnum trans, sintered iron clutch, drag radials and and a couple free mods It is a hardtop it wieghs about 3300 and it's a 01

You do realize a ta is much slower than a ws6 and the ss cars I have driven tons of fbodies some are slow as hell, some fast and I'm talking with just basic bolt ons, not all of them are exactly the same I've had both you can see the pics in my profile Fox bodies are a joke I wouldn't even run them when I had my ws6 and all my cars were sticks if you got a ta 3600 stall and 3.73 will give that 5.0 a nice run

oh wow...WS6/SS only make a "few" more horse power in stock form, I would't say MUCH slower. Once you start modding that is out the window. All of your suspension mods are going to help you more from a dig and not a roll. I promise my little TA puts more power to the street than any bolt-on ws6/ss.
