How much power needed to beat a bolt on 5.0???
What is it going to take to beat a bolt-on 5.0 with 3.73 gears and 6 speed? My old DD LS1 (110K+ miles) is due for a replacement - wondering if a mild cammed 408 with ported LS3 heads can handle the task. (408 still will be driven 60 miles per day)
Looking for feedback from guys that have got the task done withour blower or N20 - tired of hearing how great the 5.0 is at the office.
For what it is worth, I have ridden in the car, would smoke my stock 99 Z28.

Nice kill?
Don't make your 408 too mild.
That being said, if a 408 with ported ls3/l92 heads and cam loses to a stock 3.73 5.0 Coyote, you should burn your car to the ground, and then proceed to bunch yourself in the dick a few times just to get the message across
