Challenger SRT8 vs Camaro with broken tranny
I was on my way to Last of a Breed's with some tools this afternoon, just minding my own business. I pull up to 1626 and Koehler rd going towards 35. I start to take off and hear some tire screeching next to me as I take off, I look over and low and behold it is a new SRT8 Challenger. My trans is fubar and I have to ease out until I get to third and the converter locks up (broken sprag). I am trying to catch up, but the faster I go the faster he goes. So I decided to tempt fate and see how well 3rd would hold up. We are going about 70 ish by this time and I nail it, I see his car squat a little so I know he is game. Let me back up for a second, when all this transpired he was easily 5 + cars ahead of me. I feel the converter unlock as I reach the floor with the go pedal and immediately pull past and continue to put a complete raping on this guy. I let out close to 150 and think that he must have given up, but as all this takes place their is a Goldwing (or some kind of touring bike)
that is giving chase so I know he didn't let out. How humiliating would that have been to have an old guy (that is anyone older than me) blaring his tunes bent over in a racing position behind his massive windshield. I turn left at the next stop and cruise to the light at home depot and 35 and he pulls up to my right and got as close to the car in front of him so as not to have to make eye contact. I hope I get a chance to run into him again, I want him to have another chance to redeem him self of the flyby (best term I could think of) that was put on him. For those who call BS because no film

If only I would have had second gear. I thought the new SRT8's made better power than that. Guess I should have known better, I beat up on a few the were blown at the track, actually raced one in the finals of an index race (a lot of that had to do with inexperience at the track on a pro tree).

I raced work in progress before i got my retune, and I completely got smoked by his ride... with him also not 100% on the tune. I can attest, that his ride is one top end pulling beast.

the track I was at last night had a mopar shoot out with what looked like about 10 392 challengers a couple of 300's. I only spoke to 1 of them, but the fastest of them was fairly well modded and was in the 12.1-12.2x. At least that is what I saw. Nice cars just pigs, and most had pretty big wheel combos.

Your sig only shows heads/cam and says you have a car that only came with a LS1. Nice choice BTW, either a LS2 like yours or a LS3 are what I would have done myself.

Thanks, I'm actually surprised at how well it turned out. L76=6.0 L92=LS3 top end its actually a LFA 6.0 out of a hybrid tahoe. Higher compression motor but doesn't have the webbing the L76/L98 block has. Guess I should change sig to 6.0

In 2007, wardsauto.com reported that the LS3 (used by 2008 Chevrolet Corvette) and Vortec 6000 LFA (used by 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid) engines would be the final two designs in the Generation IV small-block engine family, and the future designs would be part of the Generation V engine family.
I always forget that L76 is also the name of the G8 GT engine too, not just the intake manifold.

The combination has worked pretty well. I made 498/467 with 94* intake temps. Still have some tuning to do, it looks like a turbo car under load. I also need to figure out a better pcv system, it scares me every time I let of after a hard pull with a cloud off white smoke. Can't wait to get everything lined out take it to the track.
