Default is this mustang guy really this stupid?

whats up everyone, well here's the deal. a dude up here has an 03 gt, 5 speed, street tires. he came up looking for a run and swears he has no gas, bla bla bla. anyway he wants to run out of the hole for 500 dollars. im not sure of his mods but i really dont care. it doesn't have cams or anything like that, atleast if it does you cant tell it. rumor has it he runs 8.20's (1/8). i have never seen one that fast without gas or a blower. anyhow he started asking around about my car and someone told him not to run me. .oh well. so they called a buddie of mine to run him. he just bought a mustang w/ a 351 in it. the guy he bought it from said it was a 392 stroker. it has AFR heads, 850 demon carb, forged bottom end, full lenght headers,c4 w/ 2600 stall, 580 something lift cam, 456 gears. oh yea , a 300 shot of gas. they want to run him instead!! wtf! no gas ofcourse. out of the hole and my buddie will have slicks. he cant be that stupid can he? they were going to run tonight but it started raining. well my question is this, has anyone seen a new gt run 8.20's on motor? it has to have gas but he is way out of his league w/ the 392. i wish he would run me, i just bolted my slicks up tonight and then i got the call that he didnt want to run me. let me know what u think. thanks

as a former mustang owner, its possible, but he would have to have a little work done. there are a few all motor stangs w/ extensive motor work, and all the bolt ons running high 11s, so its possible. If its his daily driver, I doubt it.

8.20 might be possible with some work. I'm sure Gray will chime in and confirm one way or another.

on street tires? the only way i could see that is if they had head work or stealth cams. the fastest one ive seen w/ bolt ons was like 8.90's.hey brandon, i hope he comes up again this weekend. since he wont race me maybe we can get him to run jason, or you. that would be easy money.

I'll run him. I don't care if I lose or not.

this car has street tires and no weight reduction that you can tell. i will try and find out everything else on the car. oh brandon, you wont lose. i saw one at the track w/ a charger on it. he dynoed 373 rwhp and the best he got on street tires was 8.40 @ 88 mph. and that was w/ a charger. so i guess this guy will just have to show me.

Alright, well with what roger said, you are just going to have to be careful about this car. With the car you buddy has, he should mop his *** up no problem. If this stang has a 4.10 rearend, and is on a street tire, he is going to have a hard time trying to hook. 1st and second with a 4.10 are very close and he will spin hard. with cams and what not, you will know he has them or not.

From what you have told me, i say you should win no problem

I know the same guy Roger is talking about. I think it would be hard for a GT to run that fast on street tires. Sounds like he's not telling you the truth on his car.
