99 FRC vs 05-07 c6 auto
So just now on the way home from work I had a quick little run with a seemingly bone stock ls2 auto corvette. Aside from him trying to make me chase him through cars(which I don't do) we only got one clean "run". The run was 55-110ish pretty even hit I'd say with the result him about 1/3-1/2 a car back(his nose at my rear wheel. I would have liked to have some true beeped off runs but I'll take what I can get.
Cliff notes: stock FRC puts 1/3 car on stock auto ls2 vette.

Yeah I figured an 05, I just assumed I got lucky and got ahold of n a4 ls2. Which is a 111-112 mph car which an FRC is 110-111 so makes sense to me. I would not expect those same results but with that one year.

Same here, I much prefer the C5 over the C6 aside from the pop-up headlights. The C5 is also lighter and has a lower coefficient of drag. The interior sucks on both so thats a toss up. The C7 interior is ****, but I just hate how they keep making them taller and more boy-racer. Park them side by side by side and you will see what I'm talking about. Its like the designer translated the top edge of car up for each generation. I understand its because safety crash and pedestrian safety regulations but it sucks. I prefer the low belt-line cars of the 90's instead of the high belt-line mailbox slot window cars they're cranking out today.

No **** on parking them next to each other. Park a c5 next to just about any car on the road and it makes that car look tall, fat, and angular.

you're right the base C6 has better aero than a FRC C5 or Z06 but not the base C5.
I like FRC's but I prefer the sloped back glass of the base C5

Back when I was stock and in the process of modifying my FRC,...I was also modding my friends 6 speed LS2 Z51 C6. I always needed to be a mod ahead of him(about 20rwhp), to edge him out ...and when I say edge...I mean WOT in 5th and barely creeping away or it would be a dead heat. It was some of the funnest, closest racing ever in my car.
C5's have a better drag coefficient then a C6 Z06. C5 is .29 ...a C6 Z06 is .34 but..the C6, or base C6 is a .28. They're all very sleek rides. I would take a C4, C5, C6 or C7. Excellent cars and platforms. You can't buy a better car for the dollar. The C5 is the biggest of them though.
Size comparison vs a 2nd gen V...which is a .36 Don't forget that it is only a coefficient of drag. you have to multiply it by the frontal area to get the actual drag force.
a large car with low CD could have the same wind resistance as a small car with a higher coefficient of drag(CD).
