Default '99 Trans Am vs 03-04 G35

I have this guy who I have as a friend on Facebook who's been deing to race me. He has a Infinity G35 w/ intake, exhaust & tires. My car is all stock all the completely. Do you guys think I have a chance? I just bought my car over a week and half ago; since than people have been trying to race me. I've beaten several VQ cars in my '96 Trans Am and it was very close with G's. So, I just want to know how would it be compared against an LS1.

I don't see why you wouldn't beat him. Dig race or roll? And are you A4 or M6?

The race is going to be from a dig and it's an A4.

You're best bet is a dig race. From a slow roll, a vq35 is no joke. MY work car a 2002 maxima, VQ35, CAI, and I built the trans with a Transgo HD2 kit. I almost always get out on ls1's for a car or two, and they come around about 100mph. From a slow roll with the Max in 1st, I get out pretty good, if they spin, it's over. If he is savvy, and has few bolt on's, and timing advance with the ELM327 and an android app, you might be in trouble. If he's manual, good luck. The guys that say the walk them....must have a stout car. A g37 runs door to door with my buddies stock tuned c5z.

Your maxima must be lighter than the g35's cause from 30-40 I'll pull a car or two by 100 and after that I just walk away. They get out alright from a dig though, the lack of torque helps on street tires.

Yeah, we'll see what happens tonight. I've ran a G37 in my LT1 and all I had was just a short ram intake, and a muffler delete. I put almost two cars on the G37 sedans. If you can get better traction then you can pull on them for days. I raced an M35 in my LT1 and put almost 3 cars on them too. The last time I raced a G35 was on the freeway and it was a 6 speed and we were neck and neck for the majority of the race. Their quick, but I believe that the LS1 will still pull through. I don't know if the guy has an auto or a M6.

Opposite from what I'm accustomed to. I kinda work on a lot of vq's for the guys on maxima.org, which I'm a member. From a dig, the convertor kills them, too tight. But form a 30-40 roll, they book pretty dam good, 50 shot and they are sleepers from hell. But, you might be right on the weight. I have't checked on the G's, but a 02-03 max ain't no joke for playing around. I prey on 4.6 mustangs on my way to work.....LOL The manuals are six speeds, and move pretty damn good. I get more runs in my 4dr soccer dad car than my c5z...LOL

M's are heavy luxury cars, but 2 cars on a g37? He wasn't ready.

Just make sure you dig race him, slow roll where he is tached up, and you might have problems. If you're stock, my 02 max would give you all you can handle. Do it all the time.

My car had **** tires at the time and with the gears/ stall I couldn't hook worth a damn so my results might be a little off.

His car is a low 14 second car with about a 98 mph trap. You should put a couple buses on him.

Man, must be nice lol. All my friends have busted *** cars. Anyone I know who actually wants to race me either has something that isn't worth the gas or is just shy of a full on race car.

And I'm not modded to hell or anything. Its still stock on street tires.

You'll walk him OP

If it were stock, sure. Either way the OP is going to win, but it won't be ugly if the other guy knows what he is doing.

My best friend has one with the same mods... 2 door 6 speed coupe, nice car. Run's like 14.4-14.3 at around 97-98 if I remember correctly. You will ruin him pretty bad.
